The Sam Pomeranz Jewish Community Center of Syracuse will host an AARP Driver Safety course for seniors on Tuesday, June 7, and Wednesday, June 8 from 9 a.m. to noon both days at the JCC on 5655 Thompson Rd. in DeWitt. The class is $25 per person ($20 for AARP members) and open to licensed drivers age 50 and older. Attendees must come both days and bring their drivers license.

The AARP Driver Safety course teaches current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques and how to operate your vehicle more safely in today's increasingly challenging driving environment. Attendees will also learn how to manage and accommodate common age-related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time. Upon completing the course participants may be eligible to receive an insurance discount; please consult your insurance agent for details. AARP membership is not required to take the course and there are no tests to pass.

To register for the class, call the JCC of Syracuse at 315-445-2360 or stop by the JCC front desk.
