JCC Fitness Center's indoor workout facilities have reopened

The JCC Fitness Center reopened on Monday, August 24 with new hours, policies and procedures in place to ensure the health and safety of all members. Masks must be worn at all times and reservations are required. Towel service and showers are not available. Please review all of the details below before making a reservation and coming to workout.

Our indoor running/walking track and indoor basketball court will remain open for JCC Fitness members by reservation. In addition, we currently offer outdoor group exercise classes, pickleball and personal training. We also continue to offer free live online Zoom exercise classes and exercise videos. These are free for everyone.

Use the JCC main entrance when you come to use the Fitness Center. The Fitness entrance will remain closed until further notice. Please wear a mask/cloth face covering while inside the JCC. When entering the JCC we will take your temperature and ask you some basic health screening questions. If you are sick, feel ill or have symptoms of COVID-19, please do not come to the JCC.

FITNESS CENTER REOPENING DETAILS

 

The JCC Sports & Fitness Center reopened on Monday, August 24 at 6 a.m. A reservation is required to come workout, use the track or use the basketball court. Please enter through the JCC main entrance (front of building). The capacity of our main fitness room is 6 people at any given time. A mask must be worn at all times.

JCC Fitness Center New Hours
Monday – Thursday:  6:00 am – 8:00 pm
Friday:  6:00 am – 6:00 pm
Saturday:  8:00 am – 1:00 pm
Sunday:  9:00 am – 4:00 pm (Note new hours effective 9/6/20)

Rules and Regulations

  • All members and guests must enter through the main entrance. The Fitness entrance will remain CLOSED until further notice.
  • Total members allowed in the main fitness room will be limited to 6. Track use will be limited to 3 people at one time.
  • Reservations are required for using the fitness room and track. Separate reservations must be made for each area. Make a reservation >
    • Example: If you have a reservation for the track and want to then use the fitness area, you must have a separate reservation for the Fitness Center.
    • Walk-ins will only be allowed if there is space available.
  • When entering the JCC we will take your temperature and ask you some basic health screening questions. If you are sick, feel ill or have symptoms of COVID-19, please do not come to the JCC.
  • You must wear a mask at all times while in the facility, except when a medical condition does not allow it.
    • If a medical condition does not allow you to wear a face mask, a face shield must be worn at all times. However, the CDC “does not currently recommend the use of face shields as a sufficient substitute for masks.”
    • Individuals may be permitted to temporarily remove face coverings while taking a drink, provided 6 feet of distance is maintained. 
    • Acceptable face coverings include, but are not limited to, cloth-based face coverings and disposable masks that cover both the mouth and nose.
      • Bandanas, buffs and gaiters are NOT acceptable face coverings for use in a gym.
  • Towel service and use of the water fountains will be suspended at this time. All members and guests are encouraged to bring their own towel and water bottle, and wash between each use at the facility.
    • Bottles of water are also available for purchase from two vending machines at the JCC.
  • Doors will be left open to allow for improved air flow, and to limit high touch areas.

Entering the JCC

  • During the check-in process please maintain 6 feet of distance between you and the person in front of you. Lines will be visible on the floor to direct members and guests.
  • Anyone presenting with coronavirus symptoms or with a temperature of greater than 100.4 will be asked to leave. They cannot return until they are fever free for 72 hours without fever reducing medication.
  • If a member tests positive for COVID-19, regardless of whether they are symptomatic or asymptomatic, that member may not return to exercise until they have completed at least 10 days of isolation from the onset of symptoms or have produced a negative COVID-19 test.
  • Upon entry all members will be given a spray bottle with disinfectant to use on the exercise equipment.
    • It is expected that members spray and disinfect their equipment as soon as they are done using it.
    • Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the facility as well.

Using the Fitness Facility

  • When using the fitness facility please follow arrows on floor as you progress through your workout. The fitness facility will now be one way, with entrance through the door nearest the fitness desk, and exit through the door nearest the pool.
  • There will be limited availability of cardio equipment, to maintain 6 feet distance. If possible, please perform your cardiovascular exercise outdoors.
  • Exercise equipment must be disinfected prior to and after each use. Please use the disinfectant spray you are given at check in. JCC management and staff will assist in keeping the facility disinfected at all times.
  • Masks must be worn at all times while in the facility.

Group Exercise Classes

  • Group exercise classes will continue to be held outdoors and on Zoom until further notice.

Track

  • Track use is limited to 3 people at one time.
  • When using the track please maintain 6 feet between you and the next closest person.
  • Masks must be worn at all times when on the track.  

Basketball Court Usage

  • There will be no member’s basketball program at this time.
  • Basketball court is available by reservation only for basic drills and/or shoot-around. No games or contact drills are allowed at this time.
    • Members must bring their own basketball.
