JCC Security Precautions

JCC Community,

In the current state of the world and with heightened antisemitic instances, we want you to know that the JCC is ever diligent in our efforts to protect our members, children and staff.

Some of you may have heard that there have been a number of threats made to JCCs and synagogues over the last several months. These threats were received through social media platforms. We have been following these threats very carefully, attending several zoom meetings, learning how to mitigate the possibility of receiving one of these threats. We have also been working closely with our Security Liaison and Law Enforcement to ensure the highest level of safety at our facility.

Law Enforcement personnel have informed us that none of these threats have been proven credible. Nevertheless, they are taken very seriously. We have excellent protocols put in place if we do receive one of these threats and we will be continually reviewing our protocols keeping them up to date.

We are sending this memo, only for informational purposes and we stress that there is no imminent threat to our agency. In these times of rising antisemitism, there is nothing more important than safeguarding our membership and staff. The JCC is the central address in our community. We will remain vigilant maintaining our protocols to keep our JCC open and safe.

Sincerely,

Steven Sisskind, Phil Rubenstein, Marci Erlebacher
