Jewish Genealogical Society: A Family Tree of the Jewish People
The Jewish Genealogical Society of Central New York (JGSCNY) will hold an in person meeting at the JCC in the lounge at 1:30 P.M. on Sunday, September 11th. They will present Celeste Moore, who is the Branch Manager at the Paine Branch Library in Eastwood. She will present “Exploring the 1950 Census”.
As Celeste has mentioned, genealogists have long awaited the release
of the 1950 census. Earlier this year, this important resource was made available for family history researchers. The talk will explore the history of the decennial census, what type of information is included in these records and how to begin your own 1950 census research. Previously, Celeste worked as a librarian in the Local History & Genealogy Department of OCPL. She is from Central New York. Chair, Mike Fixler said, “Celeste is a terrific speaker and will add much to our genealogical knowledge and skills!” For more information, feel free to to contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
