Mask Policy Update – Effective April 4, 2022

Dear JCC Community, The CDC issued a notice recommending masks be worn for indoor venues in Onondaga and two other Central New York Counties due to disproportionate rise in cases of Covid-19. This is likely to be a temporary directive and when the CDC notifies us, we will adjust our policy accordingly as hopefully cases once again decline. Effective April 4th, when we open, we ask that everyone be masked in the JCC until further notice. Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and support of our policies as we adjust to the ever-changing public health needs during this pandemic. Stop by the JCC for an evening with Haim Bouzaglo as he showcases his film Fictitious Marriage. The main character, Eldad is about to go abroad, but changes his mind at the last minute. Instead of going home to Jerusalem, he disguises himself and takes a cheap hotel room in Tel Aviv. There he meets the receptionist Judy who he makes believe he'll marry so she can go to America with him and get a working visa there. In another disguise he is mistaken for a deaf-mute Arab and joins a group of them both at their Israeli construction site and back in their village.Adults & Seniors

The JCC along with most child care and early learning centers are struggling to find quality assistant teachers. We at the JCC are very fortunate to have a great base of teachers with all Lead teachers having been with us for past school years! Along with everyone else in the nation there is a real shortage of workers especially in the early childhood field. We are actively looking for qualified assistant teachers in all age groups in the Early Childhood Program as well as Before and After School counselors in our school age program. If you know anyone that would be a good fit please send them our way. We offer competitive salary, full benefits, paid time off and opportunities for continued education and growth. Pool Reopens May 28. The JCC will be reopening their pool on May 28th. This includes pools of large and small sizes and an outdoor heated pool. Whether swimming for exercise or pleasure, make the most of your JCC membership by using the pool to its fullest this summer.Swim lessons will be available in June. Registration opens May 1st. JCC membership is not required to take swimming lessons, however members receive a discount and priority.Adults

Experience a New Adventure each day! Give your child a chance to be social and have a fun summer program with peers rather than sitting at home on electronics. Each week will consist of an animal field trip, local or county park, amusement park and everything else in between. Thursdays each week the group will travel to an amusement park like Seabreeze, Darian Lake, Roseland Water Park and more. Certain Thursday there may be an earlier drop off and late arrival back the JCC. Other field trips includes: Syracuse Mets, Big Dons, putt putt, wonder works ropes course and more. Each week the group will also volunteer at a local non profit to give back to the community.Adults
